HELP YOUR CHILD ENJOY SCHOOL TO ITS FULLEST by providing and empowering them with the skills they need to succeed. Riverside’s Orton-Gillingham Summer Camp provides campers with 45 minutes of one-on-one, multisensory language instruction with a Riverside trained Orton-Gillingham teacher every day. In addition, the camp will include math, writing, and either science or music—all provided in a small group setting.

Meanwhile, with Riverside’s Arts and STEM camp, students have the opportunity to explore their creative side in a more relaxed summer setting with current Riverside teachers. Campers will participate in crafty arts that will include tie-dye, Ojo de Dios, friendship bracelets, and more! Additionally, makerspace will allow campers to build and design to solve problems. Children will create music and sing fun songs along with the piano. Technology activities will incorporate interactive coding and programming.

Please note: Camp fills quickly, so please reserve your child’s spot today, Please click here to learn more and register >>

Music Notes

THIS WEEK IN MUSIC CLASS, we will be finishing up our study of the recorder. Om Friday morning, North Building and Ticer Hall students will perform a short concert during Morning Assembly. Please have your child bring his/her recorder on Friday morning.

Miss Myers, Mrs. Mayer and Mrs. Waldenmaier’s  classes are enjoying playing the xylophones. Last week’s lesson was a big hit! The children especially enjoyed getting turns to play the bass metallophone.

Checking In from the Library

THANK YOU TO ALL OF THE FAMILIES  that supported the
Barnes and Noble Book Fair. It was fun seeing the students find those ‘just right books,’ and come together in our community to celebrate our school.

The music program by Cori Bider was fun and the teacher story
times were a hit. Students enjoyed meeting author Steven K. Smith
and having books signed by him.

Development Update

DEAR RIVERSIDE FAMILIES,

PLEASE SAVE THE DATE OF FRIDAY, MAY 8, which will be Riverside’s Founder’s Day this year. We will be hosting festivities at the school from 2-5 p.m.

Please watch this space for more details as we approach the date, but I am happy to say that a major part of the fun will be
celebrating the 84th birthday of Riverside founder Pat DeOrio
(pictured top right)! And yes, there will be cake.

Happy Spring Break!

from the desk of…
the Head of School

I WANT TO WISH EVERYONE A HAPPY SPRING BREAK. I
am looking forward to coming back and hearing from your students how they spent their time.

Also, when we return from break, please be on the lookout for an email announcing this year’s parent survey. Independent School Management (ISM) will be running the process again this year, and we are hoping for 100% parent participation.
