Development Update

AS YOU MAY HAVE SEEN IN LAST WEEK’S NEWSLETTER, Riverside is one of the nonprofits participating in the Birdies for Charity program as part of the Dominion Energy Charity Classic. This program adds a 10 percent bonus to any donation you make to Riverside.

Last year, Riverside received an extra $800 thanks to gifts made through Birdies for Charity. Your gift could help us beat last year’s total and bring
additional support to Riverside’s Annual Fund. Thank you for considering
a donation.

Increase your gift by 10% by donating here.

from the desk of…
the Head of School

WE HAD A WONDERFUL TURNOUT AT LAST NIGHT’S NEW PARENT WORKSHOP, led by Suzie Eklund, our Director of Language Fundamentals (LF). Thank you to all of the parents who Zoomed in, and thank you to Mrs. Eklund for her great introduction to Riverside LF and the Orton-Gillingham Approach.

With all of the focus on what is different this year from last year, I am afraid that at some times I am putting not enough emphasis on what is definitely the same—great teaching and amazing learning!

Whether it is the elephant study in the Main Building primary classes, the Seven Habits analysis in the North Building, or the bulb-planting garden project in Ticer, students at Riverside and immersed in learning, and I certainly hope that you are able to take the time at home to ask your children about the exciting things going on in their classes.

Head of School

In Their Own Words

“I like that the teachers help us with our dyslexia and that the Language Fundamentals instructors help us with words and our spelling.”
