from the desk of…
the Head of School

On Thursday morning, February 15, we had our spring Admissions Open House for prospective families. Kudos go to Debra Mitchell, Associate Head of School and Director of Admission, Transition, and Testing. She put together a great program and did a wonderful job of representing our school. Thanks also go to Suzie Eklund, Director of Language Fundamentals, for explaining LF and the Orton-Gillingham Approach.

After the initial presentation, all of the visiting parents got to see part of an actual LF lesson taught by Cynthia Davis, our Fellow-In-Training, to student Millie Gray. Thanks go to both of them for being so accommodating.

Thank you to the students who served on our student panel: Quinn Agnew, Ann Marin Crawford, Katie Grimm, Henry Hubbard, Joe Seibert, and Silvio Troy. It is no small thing to stand in front of a group of adults whom you don’t know and to answer questions about your educational experiences, and all of our student panel members did a wonderful job.

Finally, we had an all-star parent panel of Adam Gelrud, Kelly King, and Shannon Romano, who shared their personal experiences and also fielded all sorts of parent questions. Thank you so much!

Fundraising Update

Thank you for all you do!

Quotable
“I like the students and teachers because they are so supportive. Teachers don’t rush you and we can go at our own pace.”
