Development Update

LAST NIGHT, RIVERSIDE HELD ITS ANNUAL HEAD OF SCHOOL CIRCLE RECEPTION to thank our most generous donors from last year. It was a wonderful occasion to gather together and celebrate the amazing Riverside community.

You can book your ticket to join us at next year’s reception by making a gift at or above the Victorian Society level. A great opportunity to do that will be during our Fall Phonathon next week!

There are still some caller slots left if you’d like to join in on the fun.

from the desk of…
the Head of School

SCHOOL ELECTIONS WERE HELD THIS WEEK, and all of our candidates are to be congratulated. It is not an easy thing to put oneself “out there” and run for office, but many Riverside Students did just that.

Candidates for class representatives spoke in front of their classmates, and candidates for the five Student Council officer positions each had to make a speech in front of the entire student body at Morning Assembly. All of the speeches I saw were positive, engaging, and would be great models for anyone seeking public office at any level.

On the topic of putting oneself “out there,” thank you in advance to all of the parents who have volunteered for the Annual Fund Phonathon next week. We have a strong Riverside Community that reaches back 45 years and extends throughout the Greater Richmond region and well beyond.

Events like our Phonathon and the Harvest Moon Festival are certainly fundraisers, but they are also community builders, and as such they are vital in achieving our school’s mission.
