TRAINING

RIVERSIDE’S OGA ACCREDITED TRAINING PROGRAM OFFERS TRAINING TO PARENTS, EDUCATORS, AND PROFESSIONALS IN THE COMMUNITY

The coursework and workshops are designed to increase understanding of dyslexia and to provide assistance to educators and parents who work with children who have dyslexia or other language-based learning differences.

Subscriber level coursework provides an overview of the Orton-Gillingham Approach and background information regarding the causes of dyslexia, symptoms, and diagnosis. The eight hours required for OGA Subscriber Membership is broken into four sessions; interested parties may attend some or all of these sessions.

Associate level coursework  is delivered via a 60-hour class that takes place over 10 Saturdays in the winter. It is for tutors, teachers, parents, and professionals who want in-depth knowledge about the O-G Approach and for individuals who might be interested in seeking Associate Level Certification with the Academy.

Certified level coursework is available via workshops that are conducted at various times throughout the school year. It is for those who have done Associate level coursework and want more advanced knowledge about the structure of language and how to teach it using the O-G Approach.
