Riverside School is a private school that serves students in grades K-8 with dyslexia and similar language-based learning differences. We provide one-on-one reading instruction, small class sizes, and a nurturing environment so that students can return to mainstream education fully prepared to realize their highest potential.

Description:
• Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday when school is in session during set hours
• Attend monthly in-service meetings, faculty/staff work days, and professional development
• This position reports directly to the Orton-Gillingham Academy Fellow

Qualifications:
• Hold or actively pursue an Associate level certification with the Orton-Gillingham Academy
• Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree preferred
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Self-confident, adaptable, and able to work collaboratively
• Problem-solving skills

Responsibilities:
Instruction:
• Administer standardized and informal assessments three times per year
• Plan and implement lessons using the Orton-Gillingham Academy approach
• Maintain record of students’ work/activities and progress
• Complete materials inventory at beginning and end of year
• Receive Orton-Gillingham Academy Observations each year coordinated by the Orton-Gillingham Academy Fellow

Administrative:
• Establish a supportive and trust-based relationship with students
• Communicate with parents
• Complete reports in Riverside Record Management System
• Become familiar with students’ case file for instruction
