Riverside Lower School Summer 2018 Reading List and Log
Thursday, June 7th, 2018

Dear Students and Parents,

Summer break brings many opportunities for each of us to experience new adventures and reunite with family and friends, as well as time to relax. We also recommend ten hours of experiences—written text, eBook, audio or visual, in a variety of literary genres.

Accompanying this letter, please find:

— A description of fiction and nonfiction literary genres, with title examples.

— A log to record any and all literature-related experiences during the summer break.

— A “genre sticker” sheet for assigning title’s genre on the reading log.

— Bookshare family account information for free eBooks.

Bring all completed Summer Reading pages* to school in the fall for prize offerings. Extra copies of all summer reading materials are available at the school website. Please feel free to contact me at the email address below should there be questions.

Whether you are headed to the beach, to summer camp, or spending time at home with your family and friends, remember to take the time to do something positive for continued educational growth—get involved with literature!  Photographs of students experiencing literature are welcome!
